Author: Stacey Kennedy
Series: Club Sin #6
Release Date: July 7th, 2015
Genres: Erotica Romance
A dedicated cop, Sawyer Quinn blows off steam by immersing himself in his role as a Master at the hottest club in Las Vegas. But when Sawyer goes after the perp who brutally beat his sister, he teams up with Chloe Nash, a sexy private investigator who awakens a sweet new need: to keep her to himself, away from the dungeon of Club Sin. Chloe is beautiful, smart, and too innocent for the BDSM lifestyle. Sawyer’s never wanted a woman like this before. Is her love worth swearing off the one thing that keeps him sane?
There’s something different about Sawyer: a commanding strength that pulls Chloe into a vortex of heady desire. But when she learns about his double life as a Dom, she’s shocked—and afraid she could never complete him. Then he saves her life, and just like that, Chloe knows she will be able to give him anything he desires. She is his—wherever and however he wants to take her.

Commanded, I'll be 100% honest, I went into a bit apprehensive. Why? Because, quite frankly, the Erotica genre as a whole has disappointed me more than pleased me lately. Often times with erotica, I feel like we get zero character development, hardly any depth to the storyline, and just an absolute sh*t-ton of sex sex sex. I'm over it! But alas, Stacey Kennedy saved me for erotica in Commanded! It was freaking awesome! Ladies and gents, we get story! We get character development! We get depth! And I ate it up!
Let me premise my review with one thing- you do NOT have to read every book in the Club Sin Series to read this book. It can be read as a standalone, in fact, I've only read book one thus far (not sure why) and I was totally fine. Each book is a different couple but we do see cameos of past couples. On to my review...
Sawyer is a Las Vegas SWAT member and Dominant at Club Sin. He's never taken on a submissive of his own, preferring to instead mentor newer Doms or taking a submissive for a night here and there. He's just never connected to a woman until he meets Chloe...who just so happens to be as vanillaas they come.
Chloe is a private investigator and Sawyer hires her to find the ex-boyfriend of his sister who beat her within an inch of her life. They team up together to find this Tyler yet, all the while, fighting their attraction to each other. Chloe literally JUST broke up with her long term and only lover and does not find jumping into the sack so quickly a smart move. But her body says something else...
Sawyer is painfully aware of Chloe's innocence, and surprisingly, it's what attracts him most to her. But he needs to be honest and open with her about the man he is too...a man who loves kink. This will work or it won't- for that he's sure.
This is the aspect of the book I knew would make or break my rating. Nothing I HATE more than a vanilla, inexperienced girl suddenly embracing her inner goddess and becoming this experienced submissive in all things BDSM. The author chose to go realistic here and I hail her! Chloe is what she is. Sawyer is what HE is. How can they meet in the middle when it's clear that his sex club lifestyle is NOT for her? The author gave me the resolution I feel is most realistic to real life and I really really loved it! I'm not giving it away but let's just say she pulled it off perfectly!
Sawyer was the perfect Dominant personality. Oftentimes authors try to tell us how Dom a man is without just SHOWING us. With Sawyer, we saw it all. He's strong, uber protective of his sister (and Chloe), sweet, and understanding that Chloe is not experienced in all (or any) things kinky. He recognizes her submissive ways yet respects her boundaries. And let's just say, when they come together, the scenes were developed perfectly hawt! Wow, even I blushed. It was such a perfect build up, I felt he was seducing me thru the pages! Why I haven't read each and every book in this series, I am not sure.
I'd call this series BDSM-lite. In fact, this particular book is more of a romance than BDSM and there's virtually no club scenes in it but don't worry...the bedroom scenes fill that hole perfectly (pun NOT intended).
So, if you're looking for a steamy steamy romantic novel with a bit of suspense and two characters that are realistically perfectly suited for each other, this book is a must read! And I MUST go backwards and read the past books within the series as I simply forgot how fantastic Stacey Kennedy's writing style is for me.
Thank you, Stacey Kennedy, for saving the BDSM/Erotica genre for me.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Stacey
Kennedy is the USA
Today bestselling author of the Club Sin series. Growing up, Stacey’s mind
wandered the path less traveled, and that path most often led to love. She has
always broken rules and she continues to feed off emotion—always staying true
to her heart. Those traits are now the bones of her stories. She lives in
southwestern Ontario with her husband, who puts any of the heroes in her books
to shame, and their two young children. If she’s not on Mom duty or plugging
away at a new story, you’ll find Stacey camping in the summer, hibernating in
the winter, and obsessing over Penny Dreadful, Game of Thrones,
and Sons of Anarchy.
Thank you so much for hosting COMMANDED! (Holy gif Hotness!)
