So when I found out that KA Linde, the queen of angst had decided to venture into this genre, I was particularly excited! Just like most YA fantasy series, I think it's important to note that the first book lays out all the groundwork and world-building. So, naturally it does take a while to acclimate with the story and its characters, getting used to the story lingos. Once I'm past that stage, I found myself immersed in that world and what lies ahead next. With Cyrene garnering both King Edric and Prince Kael's attention, only one gets a hold on Cyrene's heart. Jealousy strikes also with Queen Kaliana at bay and staking her claim by the King's side.
The Affiliate is the first book in The Ascension Series and is of YA fantasy genre.
