Book Title: Furious Rush
Author: SC Stephens
Series: Furious Rush #1
Release Date: August 23rd, 2016
Genres: Contemporary Romance, Sports Romance
For Mackenzie Cox, racing motorcycles is in her blood. Born into a family legacy, she's determined to show the world that she has inherited her father's talent in this male-dominated sport. The last thing Kenzie needs is to be antagonised by her rival team's newest rider, Hayden Hayes. Hayden, exceedingly arrogant and outrageously attractive, immediately gets under Kenzie's skin and she can't help but be distracted.

As Kenzie and Hayden push each other on the track, the electric energy between them off the track shifts into an intense - and strictly forbidden - attraction. The only rule between their two ultra-competitive teams is zero contact. Kenzie needs a win, and she also needs to stay away from Hayden. Unfortunately for her though, one thing has become all too clear: she can't.

Fuelled by passion, driven by desire, Hayden and Mackenzie both want to win more than anything else. Except for, maybe, each other. But anger, jealousy and extreme competitiveness aren't their only obstacles...

When I saw that SC Stephens was writing another book outside from her Thoughtless series, I was immediately all over it. Add on with a smokin hot biker on the cover, I was definitely sold. As much as I enjoyed the read for the most parts, there were numerous little things that hinder me from rating this higher than I'd like.

Taking place in the adrenaline filled world of motor racing, Kenzie is the daughter of a renowed motorcycle racer and she has dreams of making it to the top just like her father. In racing towards her dreams, she crossed paths with Hayden who proved to be her greatest rival. The sizzling chemistry between them is undeniable but fraternizing with the enemy is a no-go for both teams.

So one of the things that makes this read a little unpalatable is the heroine itself. Kenzie proves to be a rather judgemental woman and frankly rubbed me the wrong way with her strong head attitude. Her perception towards Hayden came off a rather hypocritical in the earlier parts of the book, even knowing when both of them are competing in the same field.

Hayden on the other hand, was pretty much the saving grace of this read for me. I loved his smart mouth when he's going up against Kenzie and her teammates. He's strongly competitive and doesn't let the negative put him down. I like that he tries to get through Kenzie's tough act and they realized that they share more in common when they secretly race together.

The secondary characters were definitely not my favorite either as most of them had me disliking them. It was probably intended that way as a plot tool to dish out the conflict but it just ended up angering me more with their antiques.

Overall, Furious Rush is a fast-paced romance read that would appeal to readers of the motor sporting world. It is unsure if this book is a standalone or a series as the ending left us with some unresolved matters.
