After posing as an escort for the Sugar Bowl online dating service, Sela Halstead is looking for one thing: payback. She’s closing in on the site’s heartless founder, Jonathon Townsend, and she needs Beckett North, Townsend’s business partner and her lover, by her side. She’d thought that their intimate nights together had forged an unbreakable bond, but after a shocking betrayal, Sela begins to doubt the brilliant bad boy. When push comes to shove, can she trust Beck to do the right thing? Now that he understands the truth, Beck will stop at nothing to secure the reckoning Sela deserves. But between his desire for her and his disgust for JT, Beck doesn’t exactly have a lot of control over his emotional state. Left with no other choice, he must summon all his discipline to maintain JT’s trust and pretend that they’re still friends. But how far will Beck go to prove his loyalty to Sela? He nearly lost her once. To keep her, Beck might have to kill for her.
Gosh I hate these damn cliffhangers! Thank goodness I have the next book sitting on my kindle because I'll be promptly diving back in! Beck meets Sela when she approaches him regarding his company The Sugar Bowl. Her motives are kept secret to only her but time with this hot guy proves her strength to withstand his pull is weak. So why not a bit of fringe benefits? Exact her revenge on his business partner and still get the good guy in the end. Until she's caught...
Enter this book. Sugar Rush starts right back up on the heels of that cliffy ending in Sugar Daddy. Surely with some honest communication, Beck and Sela can work things out... communication. Right.
Sugar Rush was a super fast read that takes us on a roller coaster towards vengeance for the worst of actions. Will Beck stand by her or stand by his partner? Who can he believe? The girl that's lied to him since they met or his partner- the guy he's known since he was a kid?
So, I gotta admit, Sela gets the award for the stupidest heroine-of-the-month. There's a scene that is just so incredibly ignorant on her part, I deducted a star because like no woman would ever, ever, be that dumb!
And, sure enough, it's the reason for the cliffy ending! Funny how that worked out!
"Oh Sela, what have you done?"
Sugar Rush is action packed, full of revelations and declarations. I love the gradual progression of Beckett and Sela's love story. And I sincerely hope for their happily ever after in the conclusion book in the Sugar Bowl series, Sugar Free.
Advanced copy received by author in exchange for my honest review.
