Seduce the teacher.
Meet the cousin.
Make a deal.
Steal the painting.

Andrea Anderson has no clue of the thoughts churning around in the dark and dangerous ex-con’s head as he enters her classroom. In fact, she’s momentarily lost for words. Not in her entire teaching career has she had a student who looked quite like Stu Cross.

A widow at just twenty-eight, love is something Andie hasn’t considered a part of her life for a very long time. However, when lingering touches turn to whispered words and hot, searching stares, she begins to wonder if maybe she should take a leap of faith.

But Stu is in her class for a reason, and it has nothing to do with love. He’s there to burrow his way into her life and repay a debt, otherwise his family will suffer. Andie is the first person to show him true kindness since he left prison, and though he doesn’t want to mislead her, he doesn’t have another choice.

Before long, Stu can’t tell whether or not he’s acting anymore, and his feelings for Andie could throw all of his carefully crafted plans into complete and utter disarray.

"Sometimes it's the ones who don't look like they need the help that need it most."

There probably won't be a day where I pick a LH Cosway book and not find myself totally immersed in the read. Honestly, this is probably my 8th book of hers I've read and every single time I start her books, I find myself finishing it in one complete sitting. There is just so much to love about her stories and she always leave me excited for the next one. Reading her stories is just as good as living through her characters' lives and I find myself easily whisked away into their world.

I'm not gonna lie - I've been excited to read Stu's story since finishing Hearts of Blue. He was the eldest of the Cross brothers and got himself into quite a mess back then. I have an affinity for the bad boys type, so naturally Stu was completely right up my alley!

In Thief of Hearts, we are introduced to Andrea Anderson, a widow who teaches an adult education class which are for those seeking to return to college as mature-aged students. She lives with her cousin, Alfie who is a gifted painter with a rather odd personality. Andrea hasn't been interested in getting back into the dating pool since her husband's death. But when Stu Cross walked into her class one morning armed with flirtations, she find herself the target of this new bad boy resident.

The sexual tension between Andrea and Stu were simply off the charts! Stu was relentless with his pursuance with Andrea but she always kept her distance with him mostly because of their student-teacher relationship. Despite putting up with Stu's antics in the classroom, I really loved how Andrea genuinely kept trying to help Stu with his struggles (whether he likes it or not). Knowing that Stu isn't all that he seems on the outside, she somehow manages to break through that tough exterior. It was only a matter of time when both of them start to realize that the lines between them are starting to blur and Stu's initial plan may be compromised.

Stu was such an easy character to fall in love with (again, I could be biased towards bad boys). No doubt he can be stubborn at times but you can see how fiercely protective he is when it comes to his family. I love that Stu doesn't need to put on a facade with being who he is and that is the kind of honesty I loved in a guy. Also with lovable side characters like Alfie, Susan and Kain in the mix, it really gave the read a good mixture of light-heartedness and humor. The story is low on the drama, which I appreciated and there was also a good twist thrown in that I didn't see coming.

I can say this with certainty - this book stole my heart just as how Stu stole Andrea's. Impeccable writing and full of heart, I absolutely devoured this read in one sitting. The burning passion between these characters was undeniable and you'll be rooting for them the entire way. LH Cosway continues to write amazing stories from the heart and this was no exception.

Thief of Hearts can be read as a standalone. I'm so excited for the next Hearts book and I can't wait for the next Cross brother, Trevor to get his story!

ARC received by the author in exchange for an honest review.
