Book Title: The Arrangement
Author: Felice Stevens
Series: Standalone
Release Date: July 20th, 2016
Genres: Contemporary Romance, M/M Romance
Carter Haywood lives for the weekends—specifically the one weekend every month when he escapes real life, with all the pressures of work and caring for his special needs brother, to do whatever he wants, with whomever he wants. Sex is only a release; he's not looking for love, a relationship or even a second night with the same man, until he walks into a bar and finds someone who makes leaving it all behind impossible. After one incredibly passionate encounter, he breaks his rule and goes back. He needs to see this man again. And again.

Damaged goods. That's all Reed Kincaide sees and hears when he looks in the mirror. Anxiety and ADHD define his life and he’s learned to keep people at a distance, never letting them get close enough to know who he really is. When Carter proposes a monthly weekend of sex without strings, it's the ideal arrangement for him. Or so he thinks. Every month, leaving Carter proves to be more and more difficult. It’s not only the intensely hot sex they have in their hotel suite; Reed wonders about the secret life Carter refuses to share.

As months pass and they grow closer Reed finds himself falling for Carter, but he needs more than hurried hugs and farewell kisses. He wants it all. Letting Reed into his carefully constructed family life could upset Carter’s whole world, but it might be the risk he’s finally willing to take, if it means keeping Reed. Once bodies are engaged, the heart is sure to follow, and Carter and Reed discover that holding on to each other is the first step in letting go of the past.

Holy shizzle, I've found myself a new MM author in Felice Stevens! This book was SPECTACULAR! I must say the combination of the HOT book cover (no judging) and blurb sucked me into reading this book. And within 5% of starting it, I knew she wasn't going to disappoint me! Wow!

Carter is a workaholic executive trying to balance his company and caring for his special-needs little brother. Little Jackson deals with developmental delays and anxiety issues so it's imperative for Carter to provide him stability and security in their home life- something their mother didn't do- his own needs be damned. But he is still a 31-year old man with physical needs so one weekend a month, he leaves him in capable hands and goes to the city for a couple nights of no-strings-attached sex with whomever suits his fancy. No feelings. No commitment. It's not ideal but it's a sacrifice he makes for little Jacks.

Reed is a student and bartender in Manhattan when he meets Carter. After a night of the best sex ever, this hot, virile guy has a proposition for him, an arrangement of sorts. Once a month, they'll meet at this hotel and set their worlds on fire with 48 hours of unbridled sex with no strings. Zero contact in between- just sex. This may work. He's got enough currently on his plate and couple that with his ADHD and anxiety, he's not interested in burdening a guy with all his emotional issues.

Once a Month.
Just Sex.
No Commitment.

Sounds easy enough...until it isn't...and hearts get in the way.

This book has everything I crave in Male/Male romance. It starts out kind of naughty steamy, sucking me in thoroughly (pun not intended). But then gradually we get the feelings, the angst I crave! If there's nothing else I need in MM, it's that angsty push and pull between my characters and we get this here in spades! Gah! My knuckles were white just gripping my kindle ready to throttle Carter for standing so true to his little brother and sacrificing his own happiness.

And the steam! This woman can write some hot gay lovin'! I use MM romance to break up the monotony of my Contemporary Romance books, usually in smaller doses but now I can't wait to read more of her stuff. It's the perfect balance of everything- engaging plot, thorough character development, angst and steam! I loved everything about it.

So if you're a fan of MM romance, and looking for all the above elements, this book delivers. In spades.

Advanced copy received by author in exchange for my honest review.

I have always been a romantic at heart. I believe that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending around the corner, my characters have to work for it, however. Like life in NYC, nothing comes easy and that includes love.

I live in New York City with my husband and two children and hopefully soon a cat of my own. My day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. I practice law but daydream of a time when I can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there is bound to be a few bumps along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.
